Liz for dinner

(That makes it sound like we ate Liz, which we did not.)

Tonight, we had the super fun opportunity to have Liz Fonseca over for dinner. Liz is one of David's former students. Last year, he would always talk about how neat she was and how much he liked her. I didn't really get a chance to know her, because I was down with the little kids last year, but having her over tonight showed me the greatness of Liz!

She is a great conversationalist and we talked about so many different things. One being, the difference of Spanish and English. It's always so amazing to me how the high school students at NCA are completely fluent in English and have little to no accent. Her English is awesome and encourages us that all we need is about 12 years or hard study to be fluent like her! We also talked about her upcoming year, which she'll be studying in New York City! What difference - to go from a super small Christian school to New York City!! She is excited and I can tell she will do great there!

One of the best things about NCA is the relationships formed between students and teachers. It gives us an unique opportunity to share our homes, lives, faith, food, and much more with these cool kids. Praise the Lord for NCA and for Liz!

New Blog Design

Just thought we would shake things up a bit and change the old boring blog template to something fun!
I choose palm trees and the ocean, because we have both those things here!

NCA teachers vs. students

It's that time of year again! You guessed it! Soccer season!! Or I should say, futbol!

The beginning of this season started off with a friendly game of students vs. teachers. Here are the teachers:

I hate to say it, I really do, but do you notice anything? Yep, you got it most of the teachers playing were gringos! Not a good sign!

(I know, I know, there are tons of good gringo soccer players!!)

This is Vidal. He is a soccer machine. Right here I think he's about to score!

This is Jassiel. He is also a soccer machine. Jassiel can run a mile in 5 minutes and 20 seconds. I can't even think about running a mile that fast.

David got to be the coach of the students, because he's got some bum knees right now and can't play. Even though, he would have loved to played against the students, it was a cool experience to really hang out and get to know the kids even better!

Beckett's First Swim!

Ok, so all we did is sit in the pool, but it was fun!

It was just me and Beckett, so I couldn't take pictures while in the pool (not enough hands, you know!) This is after our swimming! Isn't he so cute in his little swim outfit!

Gassy Baby

Just a question.

Does anyone have any genius ideas about what to do for a gassy baby???

I've tried

burping him (obviously!)

rubbing his stomach clockwise

pushing his legs up to his stomach

carrying him football style to put pressure on his stomach

giving him gas drops!

He still seems to have an upset belly!

HELP!!!

I love these guys!

Guess who slept through the night?!?

Beckett did! 9:30 to 5:30! (The sun comes up at 5 here, so that's when we start our day!)
